Definition of Anti-microbial:

Kills or reduces the growth/replication of bacteria, fungus, parasites, or viruses. In-vitro activity does not necessarly correlate with in-vivo activity. May function in-vivo by modulating the immune system, in which case should also be categorized as an immunomodulator. Anti-bacterial, Anti-fungal, Anti-viral, Anti-parasitic, Anti-protozal, Anti-helmintic, Anti-malarial are more specific subsets of Anti-microbial [ORWJr].
